Many students find composition the most challenging part of their music course. I am an experienced composer and composition tutor. I love helping my students tease out new ideas, learn compositional techniques and share different ways to develop songs.
Composition has always been an important part of my musical life. Having studied composition at Oxford University with Robert Saxton and Philip Cooke, I’ve worked as a freelance composer and orchestrator, including contributing to many projects. My portfolio includes vocal, chamber and orchestral works, and my choral work Songs of Faith was performed and recorded by the BBC Singers at Maida Vale Studios.
